WHITE MEAT & THE ENVIRONMENT Have you ever wondered what consequences your dietary habits can have on the health of the planet? This is an important question we should think about: in fact, as guests of the planet, we should always take care of it! Our food choices have an effect on the planet. The production, distribution and consumption of food leaves a mark, a real footprint on the planet. By following the Mediterranean Diet and eating certain foods less often we can reduce this footprint. The production of white meat leaves a greater footprint on the environment than the production of plant foods. If we follow the Mediterranean Diet and eat meat less frequently we respect the environment and also gain healthwise. VALORE ESSELUNGA Our poultry production systems are geared towards respecting animal welfare . In fact, our approach aims to prevent disease and so reduce the need of antibiotics. In the late 1990s we made the choice to raise our Naturama Chickens by using ethical criteria: our farms have a lower density ratio than the standard and the chicken eat a totally vegetable diet. From 2016 onwards, through our attention to farming conditions (ventilation and sanitation of the environment, monitoring of air and water) and our care towards the animals (lower density and integrated food rations) we raise chicken without the use of antibiotics in the poultry feed.
