SUPER FOODIES LAB Welcome to my lab! This space for younger children, can be interesting for older ones too. Here you can play with food and try some experiments. We need to respect some rules in the lab: • wear a protective gown or apron; • always work with an adult nearby; • follow the instructions. EXPERIMENT: WILL IT FLOAT OR SINK? The aim is to recognize fresh eggs: you can do this to check how fresh eggs are. TOOLS: • 1 litre of water • 1 bowl • 1 fresh egg (1-4 days) • 1 non fresh egg (20 days) • 1 old egg (not edible) …An average chicken egg is 50 g, while a quail egg is about 10 g and an ostrich egg weighs about 1.5 kg. DID YOU KNOW THAT… 4 | In the meantime, place the slices of toasted bread on a flat plate. Lay the asparagus and the drowned egg (previously drained with the help of a slotted spoon) on the bread.
